Professional wrestling is all about entertaining fans and building hot new stars. With so much young talent currently in WWE and TNA yet to hit it big, who's on the cusp of becoming the next big thing in professional wrestling?

The Motor City Machine Guns

By: beej 101,286 points  report  11 votes

These guys are just fun to watch. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are high energy, high intensity wrestlers with action packed matches. There is never a dull moment during a Machine Guns bout. Keep an eye on these two, as they're a definite bright spot in an otherwise boring tag team era.

Matt Hardy

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Matt Hardy is the better wrestler of the two Hardy Boyz, but he's never had the timing right. WWE hasn't capitalized on his returns and hasn't booked him properly when he's had momentum. His move to ECW should help elevate him to the next level.

Jeff Hardy

By: beej 101,286 points  report  11 votes

The Charismatic Enigma has been one of the hottest stars over the past three years, but drugs and suspensions have perpetually derailed his successes. Can the Legend Thriller finally put it together for 2009?

Kaz

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Kaz has been a mainstay in TNA's X-Division for as long as it's been around and the former Serotonin member finally broke through the glass ceiling to main event a few months back...but will his momentum continue to take him to the top?

Mr. Kennedy

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

The loudmouth from Two Rivers, Wisconsin won Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 23, but he hasn't done much since. It's getting to be time to put up or shut up for Mr. Kennedy. He has it all to be a main event star...he just needs to put it together.

Kofi Kingston

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Kofi Kingston has been a delightful surprise for WWE in 2008. Debuting in January, Kingston has quickly moved up the charts, even claiming the prestigious Intercontinental Championship belt in less than a year.

Evan Bourne

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Evan Bourne is the highlight reel of the Tuesday night ECW program. Many fans tune in simply to see the high-flyer in action. His recent battles with former ECW champ Chavo Guerrero could earn him a big time push in the future.

Matt Morgan

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

"The Blueprint" has gotten over a terrible gimmick in the WWE and seems destined for stardom in TNA. Morgan has a rare combination of size and actual athleticism that could make him a dominant force for years to come.

Christopher Daniels

By: beej 101,286 points  report  11 votes

Daniels had a nice feud going with Sting that ended far too quickly. Since then, Daniels has been seen on TNA programming as "Curry Man." He's hot, he's spicy, he tastes great...and he's become a joke. Too bad for an incredibly talented performer.

MVP

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Montel Vontavious Porter talks a good game, but he's still got a lot of work to do in the ring. MVP is still green, but WWE is hoping to be cultivating a future super star.

John Morrison

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Morrison has already been ECW champ, Intercontinental champ and a tag team champion on several occasions. Still, it's safe to say that John Morrison has not yet "arrived." When he does, expect big things.

Shelton Benjamin

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Shelton Benjamin may be the most athletically gifted wrestler in history. Unfortunately, nobody quite knows what to do with that talent. "The Gold Standard" has already claimed both second tier titles (Intercontinental and United States)...so what's next?

The Brian Kendrick

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

"The" Brian Kendrick is reminding a lot of people of the late Flyin' Brian Pillman, in a good way. Kendrick is a very gifted high flyer who could do well on Smackdown. The only question is, how high can the little guy fly?

Lance Cade

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

A few months ago, no one thought Lance Cade would be anywhere near the main event scene. But, in recent weeks his alliance with Chris Jericho has changed that. Cade is looking at a potential feud with future Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, which would surely elevate the Cowboy's career.

Elijah Burke

By: beej 101,286 points  report  10 votes

Burke hasn't been seen in a while, which is too bad. In early 2007, it seemed Burke was destined for greatness, even being called the "New Face of Professional Wrestling" by Vince McMahon. If that new face were invisible, that statement would be true.
